Doc Peters, the legendary jazz saxophonist, percussionist, keyboardist extraordinaire is set to perform with Collective Hallucination this Saturday at Legend's Jazz Cafe' Ant Boogie, the bandleader of Collective Hallucination had this to say, "If the show is anything like rehearsal, everyone had better watch out. This could possibly go down in the CH history books as one of the top 3 shows we've ever performed." With April Dawn on lead vocals and Dominique McKinley and Chris "Kool Aid" Delaney handling background vocals, this show is setting the stage for something hot this fall!! This Saturday CH will be performing at Legend's Jazz Cafe' with some friends in tow; Jamila Hodge-The pop princess of CH with her girls Thessa and Natalie and introducing April Dawn!! April will perform a scorching hot set with the band with vocal assistance from Dominique McKinley. Chris "Kool Aid" Delaney will open the set with Ant Boogie protege' Ashley D. San Jacinto @ I-10 Houston, TX 77002 Doors open at 8pm $10.00 Cover Collective Hallucination, the hardest working original band in Houston will perform with former Universal/Flyte Tyme (Jimmy Jam-Terry Lewis), recording artist Angel Grant this fall! Angel Grant and Ant Boogie have been friends since 1998 when she released her debut cd "Album" on the Universal Flyte Tyme label. "I fell in love with the Angel Grant sound when her cd was released and I reached out to her record company when I had my store to arrange an Angel Grant instore signing party", said Ant Boogie. They have remained friends through all these years and Ant says he's glad. "Angel is ready to stage her comeback and she's gonna start right here in Houston!" Angel is currently in the studio working on a new cd in Atlanta, GA. Angel Grant's debut cd was produced by the Grammy winning duo Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, former members of Morris Day and The Time, ("discovered" by Prince), who have produced hits for Janet Jackson, Usher, Mariah Carey, Solo, Sounds of Blackness and a host of others. Hits from the cd included "Little Red Boat", "Kisses Love Lips" and "Hey You". It all started when Collective Hallucination recorded themselves in the studio working on some Angel Grant tunes and posted them to You Tube. Ant says he called Angel and asked her if she'd take a look at the videos. It kind of started from there and blossomed into some phone calls, text messages and emails back and forth. Angel was in Houston recently with her mom, (who recently passed from cancer), while she was receiving treatment for cancer at MD Anderson. CH dedicated their recent performance at The Rice Stadium Cancer Walk to Angel Grant and her mom. Ant says that weekend was pretty interesting while she was in Houston, because Ant was in the studio with his band, Kmonte', Tamar and Angel Grant at one time. Angel had stopped by since she was in town and so close, there was no way she wasn't going to see her old friend and number one supporter in Houston. "There was too much talent in the room at one time", recalls Ant, "my heart couldn't take it!!! Ant says he's hoping this might lead to some dates with Angel when she gets ready to tour. "We'd love to be her support band or opening band. That'd be a dream come true!" As for now, Ant says he's just glad to be doing a show with his friend. He says now he wants to reach out to Simone Hines and Geoffery Williams, two more artist Ant has a never ending love for!! Who knows, it might happen!! The limited edition DVD will only be available at the July and August CH performances at Legend's Jazz Cafe' and it's absoulutely free for those of you who come to the show!
